The Route and Distance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Stansted is in Essex<\/a>, northeast of London; Gatwick is in West Sussex<\/a> to the south. The drive is around 70 to 72 miles, usually taking the M11 down to the M25, round the eastern arc, and then the M23 south into Gatwick. It’s the longest pairing in the London airport network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Journey Time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Plan for around 90 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes in good conditions. The eastern M25 and the Dartford Crossing are the main delay points, so I monitor live traffic and your flight, re-routing where it saves time and adjusting your pickup if your arrival changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Not Public Transport<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There’s no direct train. The rail route sends you through central London via Liverpool<\/a> Street and Victoria, taking well over two hours with changes and your bags in tow. A private transfer takes you straight from the Stansted terminal to your Gatwick terminal, with luggage help throughout and no timetable to chase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connecting Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
