Gatwick\u2019s terminal forecourts charge a minimum of \u00a310 for drop-off at both the North and South Terminals.<\/strong> That pays for up to 10 minutes, and the charge must be paid by midnight on the day after the visit unless the vehicle is registered for AutoPay. For arrivals, Gatwick directs drivers to the Short Stay car parks rather than the terminal forecourts; the first 30 minutes cost \u00a38 at the standard walk-up rate.<\/p>\n

For private-hire passengers, the key point is that the airport charge and your transfer fare are separate things. Your driver or operator should tell you which collection point applies and whether any airport access or parking cost is included in the quoted fare. A pre-booked Gatwick Airport transfer<\/a> gives you a confirmed collection plan, which is particularly useful if you are travelling with children, lots of luggage or a larger group.<\/p>\n

Gatwick drop-off charges: North and South Terminals<\/h2>\n

The designated drop-off zones sit on the forecourt outside each terminal, close to departures. They are intended for a quick set-down only: there are no entry barriers, with the visit recorded by number-plate recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The same tariff applies at the North Terminal and South Terminal. It is not a parking ticket paid at a barrier: pay after leaving, online or by the automated telephone service, by midnight the following day. Motorists can alternatively set up AutoPay before visiting so eligible visits are charged automatically.<\/p>\n

If payment is missed, Gatwick says a Parking Charge Notice may be issued. The airport\u2019s published FAQ states this is \u00a3100, reduced to \u00a360 if paid within 14 days. Do not assume that an unreadable or obscured number plate removes the responsibility to pay: the drop-off terms place that responsibility on the driver.<\/p>\n
