  • The Impact: While this is a digital upgrade, Border Force at Heathrow is warning that initial processing times may be longer as passengers register for the first time. If you are flying to Europe after the 10th, build in an extra 30 minutes for potential queues on the other side.

3. Flight Network Expansion: April Launches

April sees several high-profile routes take flight, offering more choice for Spring getaways:

  • St Louis, USA (19 April): British Airways launches the only direct UK service to St Louis from Terminal 5.
  • Guernsey (19 April): A new daily BA service connects the Channel Islands directly to the Heathrow hub.
  • Cathay Pacific Boost: Responding to high demand, Cathay Pacific has added four extra round-trip flights to Hong Kong throughout April, with some days seeing up to seven flights a day.

4. Terminal 4 Revamp & Baggage Upgrades
