Starting 22 May 2026, British Airways (BA Euroflyer) is launching a new route to Salerno.

Starting 30 June 2026, Norwegian is launching a year-round service to Billund.

In a major 2026 milestone, Air Arabia launched the only direct link between the UK and Sharjah on 29 March.

  • Why go: While Dubai is about glitz, Sharjah is the UAE’s cultural heart. It is home to world-class museums, traditional souks, and the beautiful Al Noor Island. It offers a more relaxed, traditional Middle Eastern experience while still being just a short drive from Dubai.

4. Rimini, Italy (The Adriatic Riviera)

As of 16 April 2026, easyJet has added Rimini to its Gatwick roster.

  • Why go: Famous for its 15km of sandy beaches and vibrant nightlife, Rimini also boasts a surprising amount of Roman history, including the Arch of Augustus and the Tiberius Bridge.
  • Travel Tip: Use Rimini as a base for a day trip to the micro-state of San Marino, which is just a short bus ride away.
