Option 1: The Underground or national rail link
Fast and relatively cheap, but you’ll need to navigate ticket machines, work out zones and fares, and often carry your own luggage up and down stairs or through crowded platforms during busy periods. This works fine if you’re travelling light, staying somewhere near a station, and comfortable working out an unfamiliar system after a long flight.
Option 2: Black cabs
Widely available at ranks outside most terminals, but metered, so cost can climb noticeably on longer journeys, and there can be a wait at busy times of day.
