Biggin Hill to Festival Transfers: Private Jet Arrivals for Glastonbury, Goodwood, Henley, and More

V Class Executive Taxi Transfers

A significant proportion of summer traffic into Biggin Hill is festival-bound. Whether it’s music, motorsport, horse racing, or country sporting, the British festival and event calendar draws international visitors who fly privately to avoid commercial airport hassles and arrive in style.

At DM Airport Transfers, we handle festival transfers from BQH throughout the season, from single-vehicle VIP arrivals to coordinated convoys for hospitality groups. Here’s a guide to the major festivals we transfer to and how the logistics work.

Why Private Jet Festival Arrivals Are So Popular

Festivals attract a particular type of traveller who wants to combine experience, exclusivity, and convenience:

International guests — Wealthy international visitors flying in specifically for British events.

Hospitality clients — Companies hosting clients in corporate boxes, hospitality villages, and VIP enclosures.

Performers and crew — Headline artists and their teams flying between festival dates across Europe.

Celebrities and high-profile attendees — Particularly at Wimbledon, Royal Ascot, and Goodwood, where private aviation arrivals are standard.

Time-pressed executives — Senior figures who want to attend a major event without committing a full weekend to travel.

The Major Festivals We Transfer To

Glastonbury Festival

Held annually at Worthy Farm in Somerset (when not on a fallow year), Glastonbury is one of the world’s most famous music festivals.

Private aviation arrivals for Glastonbury typically land at BQH, Farnborough, or Bristol depending on aircraft type and routing. For BQH arrivals, the ground journey to Glastonbury covers around 130 miles via the M3 and A303.

Timing — Allow 2 hours 45 minutes to 3 hours 30 minutes depending on traffic. Festival weekend traffic in the local area is severe, and we typically advise arriving Wednesday or Thursday rather than Friday.

Logistics — We handle drop-offs at on-site VIP areas and adjacent country estates where many high-profile attendees stay. Glastonbury’s hospitality and VIP arrangements include the Pyramid Hospitality enclosure and various artist compounds.

Royal Ascot

The premier event of the British flat racing season, held in June at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Distance and timing — BQH to Ascot is around 50 miles via the M25 and M3. Allow 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. Race day traffic around Ascot can extend this significantly.

Dress code matters — Royal Ascot has strict dress codes, particularly in the Royal Enclosure. Our vehicles are equipped to keep formal attire and hats in perfect condition during the journey. We can also coordinate dress-changes at nearby hotels for passengers arriving in travel clothes.

Hospitality coordination — We work with corporate hospitality providers operating at Ascot and can drop guests at specific entrances depending on their enclosure.

Goodwood Festival of Speed

Held annually in July at Goodwood House in West Sussex, the Festival of Speed is one of the world’s biggest motorsport events.

Distance and timing — BQH to Goodwood is around 65 miles via the M25 and A3. Allow 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Festival-specific logistics — Goodwood has dedicated helicopter and aviation arrival arrangements, with many international guests flying into Goodwood Aerodrome directly. For those arriving at BQH, we handle the road leg to either the festival or the various country house hotels in the South Downs area where guests stay.

Goodwood Revival

The vintage motorsport event held each September at the Goodwood Motor Circuit. Combines racing, period dress, and a vintage atmosphere unlike any other event.

Same routing as Festival of Speed — Around 65 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on traffic.

Glorious Goodwood (Qatar Goodwood Festival)

The summer flat racing festival held at Goodwood Racecourse in late July and early August. Distinct from the motorsport events but at the same estate.

Henley Royal Regatta

The historic rowing regatta held each July at Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire. A fixture of the British summer social calendar.

Distance and timing — BQH to Henley is around 55 miles via the M25 and M4. Allow 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Stewards’ Enclosure access — Henley has strict dress codes and access requirements for the Stewards’ Enclosure. We coordinate with regatta hospitality providers and handle drop-offs at the appropriate enclosure entrances.

Wimbledon Championships

The world’s most prestigious tennis tournament, held over two weeks in late June and early July at the All England Lawn Tennis Club in Wimbledon.

Distance and timing — BQH to Wimbledon is around 18 miles. Allow 50 minutes off-peak, 90 minutes during peak traffic and major match days.

Hospitality and debenture access — Wimbledon has extensive corporate hospitality and debenture holder areas. We work with Keith Prowse, hospitality providers, and corporate clients to manage guest arrivals across the tournament.

Finals weekend — Particularly busy, with significant celebrity and royalty traffic. We plan around match scheduling and security arrangements.

The Open Championship (Golf)

Golf’s oldest major championship, held annually at a rotating selection of British links courses. Recent and upcoming hosts include Royal Birkdale, St Andrews, Royal Troon, and Royal Portrush.

For most Open venues, BQH is not the closest airport but is sometimes used by passengers continuing on to London after the championship. We handle the ground transfer legs and coordinate with regional partners for longer routes.

Cheltenham Festival

The horse racing festival held in March at Cheltenham Racecourse in Gloucestershire. The biggest event in the National Hunt racing calendar.

Distance and timing — BQH to Cheltenham is around 110 miles via the M25 and M40. Allow 2 hours 15 minutes to 3 hours.

Cowes Week (Sailing)

The historic sailing regatta held each August at Cowes on the Isle of Wight. Many attendees fly into BQH and combine ground transfer with the Solent ferry from Southampton or Portsmouth.

Distance and timing — BQH to Southampton ferry terminal is around 80 miles, plus ferry crossing time. We coordinate with the ferry schedules to time arrivals appropriately.

Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival

The summer garden festival at Hampton Court, drawing international horticulture enthusiasts.

Distance and timing — BQH to Hampton Court is around 25 miles. Allow 1 hour off-peak, 90 minutes in peak traffic.

Chelsea Flower Show

The world’s most famous horticultural event, held each May at the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

Distance and timing — BQH to Chelsea is around 15 miles, journey times entirely dependent on London traffic. Allow 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes.

British Grand Prix (F1)

Held annually at Silverstone in July. One of the most heavily attended events on the F1 calendar.

Distance and timing — BQH to Silverstone is around 95 miles via the M25 and M1. Allow 2 hours 15 minutes to 3 hours.

Race weekend logistics — Silverstone has dedicated aviation arrivals at its own airfield, but many passengers fly into BQH and ground transfer in. Hospitality village arrivals, paddock club access, and team-area drop-offs all require specific routing.

Festival Transfer Considerations

Dress and formality — Many festivals have strict dress codes. Our vehicles are equipped for formal wear, hat boxes, and changes of attire en route where needed.

Hospitality coordination — We work directly with major hospitality providers including Keith Prowse, Quintessentially, and corporate hospitality teams to coordinate guest movements.

Multi-day stays — Many festival attendees combine the event with stays at country house hotels in the surrounding area. We handle the full programme of transfers across the visit.

Group movements — Corporate hospitality groups often require coordinated multi-vehicle arrivals. We’ve handled groups of 30+ guests arriving together with full vehicle coordination.

Departures — Late-night departures from festivals are common (particularly after evening sessions). Our drivers stay on-call to handle return movements at any hour.
