Uber pickups are available at Heathrow Airport, but the meeting point is not simply “outside Arrivals”. Heathrow uses designated app/private-hire pickup areas, and the correct route depends on whether you land at Terminal 2, 3, 4 or 5.
This guide explains the current Heathrow Uber pickup arrangements for Terminal 2, Terminal 3, Terminal 4 and Terminal 5 in 2026. Airport layouts can change, so after requesting your ride you should still follow the live directions shown in the Uber app.
If you are deciding whether Uber is the right option at all, rather than looking for a terminal pickup location, see our separate Is Uber Available at Heathrow Airport? guide.
Where does Uber pick up at Heathrow Airport?
Uber drivers can pick up passengers from Heathrow, but Heathrow does not allow app-based drivers to wait on the normal terminal forecourt.
Heathrow states that Uber passengers must meet their driver on foot in the terminal’s designated pickup area. Uber also advises passengers to use the Directions to pickup feature in the app after requesting the ride because the assigned meeting point can vary.
The current general setup is:
- Terminal 2: designated App & Private Hire Pickup Area in Terminal Parking;
- Terminal 3: designated App & Private Hire Pickup Area in Terminal Parking;
- Terminal 4: pickup arrangements changed in June 2026, with a Priority Pick-Up area and a Park & Ride Zone A option;
- Terminal 5: designated pickup area in Terminal Parking, currently associated with Level 1 / Row R in Uber’s guidance.
Heathrow Terminal 2 Uber pickup
For Terminal 2, Uber’s current airport guidance directs passengers to the App & Private Hire Pickup Area in Terminal Parking, Zones 1 & 2.
After leaving baggage reclaim:
- enter the main Terminal 2 arrivals area;
- follow signs for the terminal car park / App & Private Hire Pickup Area;
- cross toward Terminal Parking;
- follow the signs and the live Uber app directions to the designated pickup zone;
- check your driver’s vehicle and registration before getting in.
Uber’s own Terminal 2 directions can contain several floor/zone instructions as passengers move through the car park. Because airport signage and assigned bays can change, the safest approach is to use the app’s live directions rather than relying only on an old screenshot.
Where is Uber pickup at Heathrow Terminal 2?
The current general pickup area is within Terminal Parking in the App & Private Hire section, with Uber identifying Zones 1 & 2 in its Terminal 2 guidance.
Can Uber pick up directly outside Terminal 2 Arrivals?
No. Do not expect your Uber driver to wait on the normal Arrivals or Departures forecourt. Follow the designated pickup route.
Heathrow Terminal 3 Uber pickup
Uber’s current Terminal 3 directions take passengers to the App & Private Hire Pickup area within Terminal Parking.
Uber currently instructs passengers to:
- leave baggage reclaim and enter Terminal 3;
- follow signs for Terminal Parking;
- take the lifts toward the pickup level;
- cross the skybridge;
- continue following signs for App & Private Hire pickup;
- meet the driver in the designated pickup zone.
Uber’s current Terminal 3 guidance refers to pickup zones 1–4 within the App & Private Hire area.
Where does Uber pick up at Heathrow Terminal 3?
In the designated App & Private Hire pickup section of Terminal Parking, not the terminal forecourt.
Where is the Uber pickup point at Terminal 3?
Follow Terminal Parking and App & Private Hire signs, then use the Uber app’s pickup directions after the ride has been requested. Uber currently describes the final pickup area as zones 1–4.
Heathrow Terminal 4 Uber pickup — important 2026 change
Terminal 4 changed substantially on 23 June 2026. Heathrow closed the old Terminal 4 multi-storey parking arrangement as part of a redevelopment programme and introduced new pickup options.
Heathrow currently lists two Terminal 4 passenger-pickup options:
- Terminal 4 Priority Pick-Up: a paid quick-collection area close to the terminal;
- Park & Ride Zone A: a free pickup option for up to two hours, with a shuttle bus between the car park and terminal.
Uber’s current Heathrow guidance tells passengers to follow the in-app pickup directions because the exact route can depend on the active pickup arrangement.
Terminal 4 Priority Pick-Up price
Heathrow’s current Terminal 4 Priority Pick-Up charges are:
| Time in Priority Pick-Up | Charge |
|---|---|
| Up to 10 minutes | £7 |
| 11–29 minutes | £14 |
| 30–60 minutes | £25 |
| Each additional 60 minutes or part | £25 |
Heathrow says the maximum daily charge is £200. Vehicles must not be left unattended in the Priority Pick-Up area.
Is there a free Terminal 4 pickup option?
Yes. Heathrow currently allows up to two hours free in Zone A of the Terminal 4 Park & Ride car park. Free shuttle buses operate between the car park and Terminal 4.
For an Uber journey, follow the pickup location assigned in your app rather than independently choosing a different pickup option.
Heathrow Terminal 5 Uber pickup
Uber’s current Terminal 5 instructions direct passengers toward Level 1 of the Terminal 5 car park.
The published Uber route is broadly:
- leave baggage reclaim and enter the Terminal 5 building;
- head toward the lifts;
- take the lift to Floor 1;
- turn toward Terminal Parking;
- follow the pedestrian route through the car park;
- continue toward the designated Uber pickup area.
Uber currently identifies Row R as the Terminal 5 pickup area in its published guidance.
Where is Uber pickup at Heathrow Terminal 5?
The current published meeting point is in Terminal 5 Terminal Parking on Level 1, with Uber directing passengers toward Row R.
Can Uber collect from Terminal 5 Arrivals?
Not from the normal terminal forecourt. You need to walk to the designated pickup area in Terminal Parking.
Should I request Uber before or after baggage reclaim?
For an on-demand ride, it is normally better to consider:
- whether your bags have arrived;
- how long passport control has taken;
- the walking time to the pickup point;
- the driver’s estimated arrival time.
If you request too early and then get delayed in baggage reclaim or customs, the driver may reach the pickup area before you.
Uber’s app provides live arrival and pickup directions, so use the current information shown for your trip.
Can I reserve an Uber pickup at Heathrow?
Uber currently allows eligible Heathrow Reserve bookings up to 90 days in advance.
For reserved airport pickups, Uber says flight details can be used to help account for changes such as significant delays.
Reservation availability, waiting time and cancellation conditions depend on the ride offered in the app, so read the current booking terms before confirming.
How long does it take to walk to the Uber pickup point?
There is no single answer because walking time depends on:
- terminal;
- arrival gate;
- mobility;
- luggage;
- lift availability;
- airport construction;
- the exact pickup zone assigned.
Passengers with several suitcases, young children or mobility needs should allow more time than someone travelling with one cabin bag.
What if I cannot find my Uber driver?
If you reach the pickup area and cannot see the vehicle:
- check the registration number and vehicle details in the app;
- check whether the app has updated the pickup zone;
- message or call the driver through the app;
- stay within the designated pickup area unless instructed otherwise;
- do not accept an unsolicited off-app ride.
Uber specifically warns passengers not to accept off-app trips from people soliciting rides at the airport.
Does the driver have to pay to pick me up?
Heathrow pickup areas can involve parking or access charges. The exact treatment of those costs in an Uber fare depends on the ride and app pricing.
For Terminal 4, Heathrow’s Priority Pick-Up area now has a published tariff starting at £7 for up to 10 minutes. Terminal 4 Park & Ride Zone A is free for the first two hours.
Does Heathrow charge for Uber drop-off too?
Yes. Heathrow currently charges £7 per visit to its terminal drop-off zones.
This is a separate issue from the pickup point. If you are travelling to Heathrow rather than being collected after landing, see our Heathrow Uber availability guide for drop-off and booking information.
Uber pickup for 5 or 6 passengers
If you have five or six passengers, check both passenger and luggage capacity before requesting a larger Uber category.
UberXL is designed for groups of up to six riders, but a six-passenger airport group with six large suitcases may need considerably more luggage space than the seat count suggests.
See our Uber luggage capacity guide for a fuller explanation.
Uber pickup for 7 or 8 passengers
Seven or eight passengers are above the normal UberXL rider limit. Depending on current availability, you may need a larger ride product, multiple cars or a pre-booked larger airport vehicle.
If keeping the group together is important, see our 5–8 seater airport taxi and minibus transfers.
Uber pickup vs a pre-booked Heathrow transfer
Uber can work well when you are comfortable requesting a ride through the app and walking to the airport’s designated pickup area.
A pre-booked private transfer can make more sense if:
- you want the journey arranged before landing;
- you have several large suitcases;
- you are travelling with a larger group;
- you have young children or elderly passengers;
- you require a specific vehicle category;
- you have a long-distance journey after Heathrow;
- you prefer to provide all passenger and luggage details in advance.
For private cars, MPVs and larger vehicles, see our Heathrow Airport transfers page.

Terminal 4 is the main 2026 change to be aware of because its pickup arrangements changed from 23 June 2026. At every terminal, the live Uber app should be treated as the final authority for the assigned meeting point.
Heathrow and Uber pickup information was checked against official Heathrow Airport and Uber guidance in August 2026. Airport parking layouts, pickup zones, prices and app instructions can change.
