Home of the 2010 Ryder Cup

Celtic Manor Resort in Newport hosted the 2010 Ryder Cup, the first ever staged in Wales, on the Twenty Ten Course — a layout purpose-built specifically for the tournament and designed to hold crowds of around 50,000. The event went down to the very last match, with Graeme McDowell holing the winning putt for Europe on the Monday after rain delays pushed the contest into an extra day.

The resort remains a major golf destination today, with three courses in total and a strong reputation for hosting golf societies and corporate events alongside individual visitors.

From Airports to Celtic Manor

Cardiff Airport is the closest, around 25-30 minutes away, though Bristol Airport is also a practical option for visitors from further afield. We provide direct transfers from Cardiff, Bristol and any UK airport straight to the resort. Meet & greet available. Flight delayed? We track it automatically.

Three Courses in One Resort

Beyond the Twenty Ten Course, Celtic Manor also has the Roman Road and Montgomerie courses on site, meaning a multi-day golf trip here doesn't require moving hotels or venues between rounds — genuinely convenient for societies wanting a full weekend of golf without the logistics of travelling between separate clubs.
