Host of the 2010 Ryder Cup — the first ever held in Wales — on its purpose-built Twenty Ten Course.
Celtic Manor Resort in Newport hosted the 2010 Ryder Cup, the first ever staged in Wales, on the Twenty Ten Course — a layout purpose-built specifically for the tournament and designed to hold crowds of around 50,000. The event went down to the very last match, with Graeme McDowell holing the winning putt for Europe on the Monday after rain delays pushed the contest into an extra day.
The resort remains a major golf destination today, with three courses in total and a strong reputation for hosting golf societies and corporate events alongside individual visitors.
Cardiff Airport is the closest, around 25-30 minutes away, though Bristol Airport is also a practical option for visitors from further afield. We provide direct transfers from Cardiff, Bristol and any UK airport straight to the resort. Meet & greet available. If your flight timing changes, flight tracking can help with collection planning.
Beyond the Twenty Ten Course, Celtic Manor also has the Roman Road and Montgomerie courses on site, meaning a multi-day golf trip here doesn't require moving hotels or venues between rounds — genuinely convenient for societies wanting a full weekend of golf without the logistics of travelling between separate clubs.

Golf Transfers to Celtic Manor Resort can be arranged for golfers travelling with clubs, suitcases and other equipment. Golf bags take significant vehicle space, so the number of golfers alone is not enough to choose the right car or minibus.
Private airport collections can take golfers directly to a hotel, resort or golf course. Provide the flight number, number of passengers, golf bags and suitcases so the required luggage capacity can be planned in advance.
Larger vehicles can be requested for golf groups, but seating capacity and equipment capacity must be assessed together. In some cases, a vehicle with more seats or additional luggage room will be required even when the passenger count is relatively small.
If your itinerary includes several courses, hotels or an airport return, send the full schedule when requesting the booking. This helps us check whether one vehicle can cover the required journeys or whether separate transfers are more practical.
