Both Leeds and Sheffield are "red brick" civic universities, founded in the same wave as Liverpool and Manchester in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and both retain large, self-contained campus areas close to their city centres. Term-start and term-end weeks bring predictable spikes in transfer demand, especially around Freshers' Week and the Christmas break.

From Airports to Leeds & Sheffield

Leeds Bradford Airport is the closer option for Leeds, typically 25-30 minutes from the university area, while Manchester Airport is the more practical choice for many Sheffield arrivals given its wider range of international routes, at around an hour's drive. We provide direct transfers from either airport, or any other UK airport, to student accommodation across both cities.
