Oxford and Cambridge both operate on a collegiate system — 39 colleges at Oxford and 31 at Cambridge, each functioning almost as its own small community with its own accommodation, dining hall and porters' lodge, rather than students being spread across one central campus. Both universities also have particularly large international and postgraduate populations compared to most UK cities, drawn by research programmes that run on their own timetables rather than standard undergraduate term dates. Neither city has its own airport, which makes a pre-booked transfer especially useful rather than relying on train-and-taxi connections with luggage.

With students arriving from all over the world, often for postgraduate study or research terms that don't align with the usual September start, we provide meet & greet as standard on request — your driver waits in arrivals with a nameboard and takes you directly to your specific college, not just a general city centre drop-off.

From Airports to Oxford & Cambridge

Heathrow is the most practical gateway for Oxford, roughly an hour and a half by road, while Stansted is closest for Cambridge, around 45 minutes away. We cover both, along with transfers from any other UK airport for those flying into a different hub.
